Not so serious business.

Looks rather familiar no?
A lot of the brand idents I find and am instantly attracted to are either a mix of cardboard creations and not necessarily lo-fi and scruffy around the edges either, art directors now seem to be following a trend of using playful and large props with bold colours to sell their brand.
CGI does do the same job with similar themed idents but there can be a certain appeal of ‘the real’, take the Sony Bravia ‘bouncing balls’ adverts; even though they were enhanced in post production the essence of the advert was focused on the real element.
‘Cause these visuals are done fo’ real I have a little soft spot for them, I’m not hating on CGI but when your budget allows you to throw thousands of bouncy balls down a San Fransiscan hill you should just go out and do it, CGI will never (yet) be able to give you the same look and well I don’t think it would be as much fun.
